U.S. Senate Showdown With Governor

By rolando · January 2, 2009 · Filed in Did What?, Headlines, Politics

Will if this country doesn’t have enough political problems already, according to CNN, the U.S. Senate is refusing to accept Roland Burris into the Senate–and this isn’t Republican against Democrats, its all of them.  Seems all Senators, from all political parties are not too happy that Burris, appointed by the Illinois governor, Rod Blagojevich, to fill the Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama, comes with controversy.

The controversy is that Blagojevich “was arrested December 9, accused by federal authorities of corruption, including allegedly trying to sell Obama’s seat for personal gain.”  Now ain’t that just Skippy.  Is Al Capone still alive in Illinois?

Of course, like all politicians accused of corruption Blagojevich is denying all wrongdoing.  He’s a politician, clean as a whistle, that’s how they all get elected right?  It could get interesting as CNN is reporting, “The first Democratic aide said if Burris tries to enter the Senate chamber on Tuesday, the Senate doorkeeper will stop him. If Burris were to persist, either trying to force his way onto the Senate floor or refusing to leave and causing a scene, U.S. Capitol police would stop him, the aide said.”

I dare you to post your thoughts, are politicians trustworthy?  In Illinois?  Is Al Capone still alive?  Ok, the latter is a stretch, but I dare you to share you thoughts…Thanks, Rolando
